Whittling and Woodcarving by E.J. Tangerman, 1936 (Dover, 1962)
(From a small cache of woodcarving books I found at a thrift store recently. Unfortunately, they're some of the most putrid smelling books I've bought in a while. Any ideas how to freshen up basement-sour books?)

I love the peach stone diagrams.
For the smell, fill a large plastic container with charcoal briquettes or cat litter and put a smaller (open) box containing your books on top of whatever you're using. Seal for a couple of days. It helps if the books are standing upright with the pages fanned out, but yours may be too fragile?
Thanks c! I'll try this.
